24x36 oil on canvas

24×36 oil

The Rosedale WWI Memorial Arch, A beautiful place sitting just above Southwest Blvd and Rainbow. I needed another location to paint that was close to work, and I wanted to use a big canvas, so I had to be out of the wind. There is a large stone wall behind me as I painted which shielded me from the winds. Half way through the painting, I found a chain crossing the road, barring anyone from entry. It was almost a week it was locked off, and again the leaves had fallen from the branches. I love the long stretching shadows from the low mid day sun creeping across the landscape.
