24x18 oil on canvas

“Kansas Dinosaur”
24×18 oil

Jan 2011, Patricia Thomas, a fellow artist that I worked with in my 1st few session of this series had the idea to paint the grain elevators at 7th street and Southwest Blvd. I really enjoyed working on this structure, the rich textures, the angles, and rust just really caught my eye. Patricia and I worked on either ends of the building, both of us was being buffeted by the winter winds. This took a little longer because I could only work on weekends because of all the truck and train activity at the elevator. It may look like an old dinosaur, but it’s well used.
